HELLO GUYS IM GETTING READY TO INSTALL A 1973 455 BLOCK AND TH400 TRANNY INTO MY 62 2DR HARDTOP BONNEVILLE IT HAS THE 3 SPEED TRANNY WILL THIS WORK OR WILL I HAVE TO BANG ON THE TRANNY HUMP TO MAKE IT FIT. THANKS FOR ANY HELP GUYS.

Everything that I have been told says that you need to "enlarge" the tranny tunnel.
Give me a thumbs up, tell me "Nice Car!", but for god's sake, don't call it an Impala. |

Bolt it in and have fun. Should be no pounding or cutting. Will need to have driveshaft made to fit, depending on long or short tail trans.

The Bonneville and Star Chief used the big auto trans so you shouldn't have any problem. A Catalina or Grand Prix has a smaller tunnel and maybe you would have to do a little hammering on them. I know you did to make the trans out of the Bonneville fit a Catalina of that year.
