Default Please ID the model of this 1955 Pontiac

Can someone help me by positively identifying the model of the Pontiac in the picture / poster? The poster says 1955 Pontiac, but no model name is provided. I've done some google searches for 1955 Pontiacs, but I can't find a model that exactly matches the front bumper of the model shown in the poster. Thanks!

The picture depicts a 1956 Star Chief Catalina Sedan (4 Dr Hardtop).
I dont believe any production unit carried the upper body color onto the trailing edge of front fender and on to the rocker panel.
Possibly a pre- production photo release?

Tom, I think that you are correct about the pre-production release. What about the V8 emblem on the front fender?

SteveP The V8 emblem on front fender is correct. On the 1955 models the emblem was displayed on the quarter panel near the tailight. Moved to front fenders in '56.
Gone along with the silver streaks in 1957.

Tom, nice call.

But I think what you are seeing as upper body color around the back half of the wheelwell edge and across the rocker is an illusion.

This is an artist rendering, not a photo. I think the illustrator was trying to capture the light reflection off of these surfaces which are not flat relative to the adjacent metal. He just emphasized these surfaces for visual effect. I don't think he was trying to show them as top color. Same way the rear door appears as if it is not lower body color.

As to the color he was trying to capture, who knows? Differences in screen monitors can affect what each of us sees.

I'm not even sure what two tone combinations Pontiac offered in '56. In my mind, I think it looks like it could be Nimbus Gray over Catalina Blue. Although I see some green in the rear door, maybe Sun Beige over Glendale Green? But who cares? Pretty sharp no matter what the combo.
