Wink Probably...

won't need those snow tires much longer! Just kidding...you know I'm "old school"...maybe a little too much. Who's doing your upholstery? I can introduce you to Teddy...our guy. He's really good and very reasonable. If you are farming it out, that is. Let me know. Lookin' real good otherwise! Take care.

Ron, I've met Teddy. He did the top on my '68. When I get ready, I'll have him come here and do the headliner. And sorry about the snow tires, I can't put bias plys on this one.

Default Nice GTO, mine has same color combo!!!

Great progress, mine is waiting for paint and is the same color (Interior/Exterior) as yours. Mine is a post car. Any info on the engine specs? What are you going to put in the goat?

Since you are putting your back together is it an early production model? I am trying to find out why my roof support is missing on my car. The support runs do the center of the roof from front to back. I have another later production 64 and it had the center support.

My car was built in April, has the center brace in the roof.

I'm not allowed to talk much about the engine. It's being built by Hillard Performance. There's a certain red '64 post coupe that needs to be taken care of first.

Gee those pictures look mighty familiar, I just got my 64 back 3 weeks ago from the paint shop. It's red though. Hopefully mine will be ready to drive in late May.

That Dave sure is a troublemaker!!! Stopped in to see and hear the 541 IA II on the stand the other day. She sure sounded impressive. Too bad the car it's going in probably won't hold it. Anyway...just chiding you on the tires. Car appears to be coming together very nicely! Take care. Ron

hahahahahaha....Maybe if I make yours just a little faster than Doug's, then he'll come back for more work and be faster than you. Then you can come back for more so we can make yours faster than his...etc, etc. I love competition. LOL

Now you've got it, "unrestored" vs. "over-restored".

Well, it's been a long time since my last update to this project. I basically took the summer off. The car is still not together. But, my little 389 is alive and running.

I hope to post lots of progress this fall/winter. Should have the engine home Saturday, that should motivate me.

Not a lot of progress to report yet. Got the motor home. Just finished checking out the bellhousing runout for the Tremec. I'm using a factory bellhousing and it checked out OK. Hopefully I'll get the clutch and Tremec bolted up soon and dropped in the chassis. I did get the door locks, strikers, etc in. Woohoo! One tiny little part of the project finished.

I wanted to get all of the glass in the car next, so the roof rail weatherstrips and trim went in.

I tried polishing the glass using the Eastwood kit and wasn't happy enough with the results, so I'm waiting for my new glass to arrive.

So, back to the firewall. Dash insulator, pedals, parking brake, cowl vent, etc. I hope to keep the momentum going and be able to show the car this summer.
