Default Auto City Classic - Pontiac Alm. Radiator

Has anyone had any luck the new Pontiac Radiator for fullsize that ACC is offering on ebay shipped for 199.00?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291058983374...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Not sure if link will work, Item # 291058983374

I've been eyeing the US Radiator for double the money, which I'm sure is superior in quality, it's just hard to ignore the ACC at half the price. I'm sure I'll end up ordering the US radiator.

I was going to spray it black to try and hide the fact it was alumimum.

Any thoughts?

Thanks- Mark

I have no knowledge of the aluminum radiator but I have bought a lot of Chevrolet stuff from Auto City Classic and I assure you they are first class. The only problem I have ever experienced was with a rear glass and I told Tom (owner) and he took the item back and refunded my money, no questions asked. I wouldn't be afraid to buy the radiator because if it isn't right I'm sure they make it right. Call and talk to them about the radiator before you buy it.

I bought a windshield from Auto City Classic and was happy with the transaction; they generally have a good reputation, they are local to me so I see them regularly at the car shows. That said, I also have a triple flow copper radiator I got from US Radiator and it's a quality piece as well - it keeps my car nice and cool even in 100 degree ambient temperature, and looks just like the original except that it doesn't have the Harrison name stamped on the upper tank.

I don't think they have it anymore, but Auto City Classic used to have a salvage yard in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis; they were real big on 1958 Chevys, and must have had a hundred of them lined up in the yard.

The pix in the Ebay ad show the tranny cooler lines on the bottom of the radiator instead of the side. May be just a generic photo they use so I'd check with them on this before I bought one. Darned good price.

Since 65 and 66's use cross flow radiators and the core on the 66 is about 2" wider than the 65, I don't trust the fitment chart much.

I installed a new aluminum US radiator in my 62 Catalina last year. Very happy with it. I roughed it up with a steel wool then primed and painted 60/40 black. I used Eastwood radiator paint on the fins. Looks like the original and flows nice and cool. Sorry, but know nothing about Auto City Classic.
