My father purchased a 1966 GTO from Ramsey Pontiac in Des Moines, Iowa in 1965. I would like to find that car but I do not have the VIN. Does anyone know how I can go about finding this car. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Tarry

I hunt cars all the time for individuals. If you don't have a Vin number you are probably wasting your time. You might be able to obtain a "Title History" by using using your father's name. Check with Motor Vehicle Division in your state and see how far back their files go. Remember to ask them one thing. Not their computer files (as they are purged after so many years of non license renewal) Ask them for the hard files and where are they stored. I doubt if you can get what you want but that is the only lead that I would know of. They sometimes will let you manually search their files. YOu could go back to 1965 in your county (where the car was originally registered) and start digging - Good Luck - Dwight
