Thumbs up Black G8 totaled, here's my replacement.

My Black G8 GT was totaled when someone pulled out in front of me. Fortunately, the faulty driver's insurance company took care of me. My new one is Sport Red Metallic.

The black car don't look too badly damaged. Congrats on the new one. They are sweet cars.

Doesn't look totaled to me, either. Looks like a repairable. Of course, that's just based on a picture, could be a different story in person.

Glad things worked out. Too bad about the black one though. Any injuries in the accident?

From what I heard the front grill and bumper are non existant. Not sure since it's another Australia bodied car. A friend of mine has a black GXP and he didn't want to drill a couple holes in his for the front plate.

I have a friend who has parted several 2004-2006 GTOs and has a tough time selling body parts. He had a 2004 Torrid Red 6 speed GTO that was very repairable that ended up getting scrapped because somebody wanted the engine/trans. He tried for a year to sell it complete. Both rocker panels needed repaired and the driver's door (which was already installed and was from a Torrid Red car). It was a shame to see it parted.

That said, I cannot believe the G8 parts are that tough to come by (of course I have not tried to look for any). I know when I had my 2004 GTO there were several guys shipping parts from Austrailia. I would imagine this is still going on.

A nice www.hsv.com.au front clip will fix it.

Tod, I hope your right. We can't use the 04 to 06 GTO as an example since it's a different year and car. I'm only conveying what another G8 owner told me.

An insurance adjuster told me a while back that in a frontal collision if the bags blow its totalled.
