Default Hello

Thanks for the welcome guys! The car is just a very slowly moving project, and I'm finally getting the motivation to work on it again.

Anyhow, the car is a 1970 LeMans sport AC / Console car that I've had since 2004. It was originally gold / saddle top and interior,. A buddy of mine found it He found it under a tree in someone's backyard- dragged it to his shop, powerwashed the inside and outside and literally drove it like that for a year, just trashed.

I got my hands on it after he crashed a Harley and needed something easier to live with so I traded an old Mercedes 450SL for it. I decided to have most of the trim shaved off the body, repainted, and then built a .030 455 for it and a 12 bolt.

Engine is a .030 455,
cleaned up 5C heads 96CC??
TRW Forged flattops
CAT forged rods
Performer Manifold
UD 288/296 Hyd cam / Harland sharp rockers / BBC 7/16 studs
Ruggles Qjet + HEI Dizzy
Doug's headers w/ cermacoat.

TH350 with a 2400RPM TCI stall + shift kit
12 Bolt with an Auburn locker and 3:42's out rear.
Lowered 2" all the way around

Interior-basically has none, LOL. One day

Still needs upgraded fuel as well. Working on body bushings and fuel.

Thanks again!

Sounds like you started with more than I did....

Mine came with an engine, it just wasn't in the car (and was swapped for other parts for the car anyway - as I found a numbers matching properly dated coded 389 GTO motor).

It was 2.5 years before I was ever able to drive mine (June 1992 - October 1994) - it wasn't done, but I put 800 miles on it before parking it for the winter.

Photo 1 is the day I brought it home. Photo 2 is fall of 1995. Photo 3 is spring of 2017 after I put the 17" steelies, 462, disc brakes, WS6 sway bar, Global West tubular A arms, Koni coil overs....

It's been a 29 year love affair (with my wife's permission) - she actually found the seller and gave me his phone number.

Welcome to the Forums.

Your car reminds me of a 72 LeMans I had with 455/th400/12 bolt posi 3.31. Fun to drive. It was Lucerne blue/ black interior

Good luck with your Pontiac.
