Default Needs Restoration

I'm looking for a restoration business who specializes in Pontiac, in the Ohio Indiana, Kentucky ( or near there) to restore my 74 T/A 455 SD. That isn't two years out to be able to start the project. Any ideas or suggestions?

Scott Tiemann in Portage Michigan.

Not sure what his wait time, and he will be expensive, but in either case it would be worth it.

I would suggest very strongly that you try now to find all the body parts you think you might possibly need to restore the car.
I buddy of mine 3 months ago had to spend a crazy amount of time to find what he needed for a 72 Chevelle no less!

Correction: Supercar Specialities is located in Portland, Michigan, not Portage.

You can't come on here and mention a 455SD car without posting some pics. Thats like telling us you have a hot wife but won't show her off....lol

The quarter panels are unique. One year only. Maybe a good body man can make 73 down work. Good luck. Dont throw anything away. Good luck.

Steve Schappaugh, owner of Musclecar Memories Restorations in Nebraska, would be my vote. He is member sd455hota on this site.

What level of restoration is needed? If it just needs minor dents and rust removal that's one thing, if it needs major surgery that's another. The main thing is to find a shop that is professional and does quality work - you don't want to end up with someone who makes false promises about completion dates, or takes the car apart and then parks it outside for months, or has a revolving door for workers starting and then quitting, or any of that sort of thing.

I have just about everything I can think of, I have $2,000 worth of parts in 1980 money. still in the boxes. I found a front bumper in Ca. and GM quarters in Tn. I've been collecting the parts for some time.
All the grille parts and bright work never been out of the GM boxes.
I'm running into the places I'd feel comfortable with are one to two years out.
Drive train I'll do myself. Car has 42,000 original miles, I'm the second owner.

I want it returned to as close to original as can be done, if not better. Body rust is the worst problem. Sat for 11 years before I got it. Car has 42,000 miles on it.

I have New quarters for it. To use or make patch panels from. They too are GM original panels.

Ha ha true, it's not much to look at right now. Only photos I have right now are of the damage (rust areas) I'll have to take some of the over all car. I do have a bunch of communication letters between the first owner and GM. Some may find interesting.
