Default 96 Firebird Door Hinge Adjustment Advice

Picked up a low mileage '96 Firebird that the drivers door needs adjusted up in the back so when I close the door don't have to lift up on it to get it to shut right. Thought the top door hinge was worn and replaced with a different one and actually made the problem worse. Pulling my hair out trying to get this adjusted. Any tricks to this????

remove the 3 bolts that holds the back of fender
2 on underside at rocker and one in the middle.
You can then reach inside the door and loosen the hinges with door closed.
Its best to remove the detent spring first so theres no pressure on it.
You may have to trick the door into thinking its lower than it really is by jacking the striker pin up a bit.
These doors will sag and crack at the hinge area because they are SMC and are so long.
If you want to upgrade the detent rollers I have maintenance free ball bearing ones.

Are you saying to basically close the door and then loosen the hinges(both top and bottom) where they attach to the body so they "self adjust" since the door is closed and in the right position then?
