Default legendary door panels

I just received my new Legendary door panels today and I need to cut through the panel where there is a perforation for the electric window switch. Its not perforated all the way through and it looks like 3/16 inch plastic. What cutting tool would be used on it?

I would use something along the line that a leather shop might use.
Some type of HD sharp hole punch rather than a bit.
Might talk to a local upholstery shop if possible.

#1 don't trust the perforations on the back side to be located exactly right, and or squared up to the pattern on the vinyl. They might be and they might not be- so better safe than sorry.
Double check your desired location on the front side of the door panel & door frame features first.

#2 once you have your location finalized... Mark the corners that need to be cut (remember the hole is smaller than the bezel is) & drill them with a tiny drill bit. Then use a sharp(fresh) razor blade to carefully cut the vinyl, then to cut the door card.

I have a quick change box knife that i use for EVERYTHING, and i change the blades out constantly to always have a sharp edge.
It takes a few passes to cut through door card materials, but its a nice clean & consistent cut.

after the initial cuts & pulling off the vinyl & backing for the area to be cut, you could use an oscillating multi tool cutter if you are careful on the panel board. Not sure how small the hole is for the power switch- it might be smaller than the blades are.

hope this helps!

Out of curiosity, how long did it take to get the Legendary door panels from time of order to delivery?

I ordered some PUI door panels, and lead time is 6+ months.

My understanding is that there is a massive backlog due to the availability of the foam used in interiors, like seats, door panels, dashpads, etc.

YIKES! I better get mine ordered. Last set I ordered was 6 yrs ago and it took about 4 weeks. I deal with shortages and delays in materials every day now, sign of the times.

I was told by Legendary that assembled door panels for my Firebird were like 40 weeks (this was about a month ago). Un-assembled we 32-36 weeks. I ordered vinyl to build my own (and carpet and headliner) and lead time on that order was 8 weeks.

My Legendary asembled Red Deluxe '73 Formula door card set took almost 1 year.
They are in NY, which has/had severe covid restrictions.
