Restored Dash Assembly Challenges
Hi all,
Received my restored 69 GTO Dash from just dashes. It looks great, but there seems to be some extra padding in some places, making reassembly difficult. Has anyone had experience with this? I called them and they said to use a heat gun to soften the vinyl up - for example, I can't get the instrument bezels to go all the way through the three holes, the vinyl is too damn tight. I tried my wife's hair dryer but worried about damaging the vinyl.. still couldn't get the bezels through. Also, the heater control bezel is tight. The extra padding of the dash causes the new bezel to distort, so while its installed, it doesn't look right. Is this my issue with assembly or is the dash just have too much padding? Thanks!

Did you get this issue resolved? If so, what was the fix?
I sent my '69 dash off to them a few weeks ago.
