Default My best...

My car has full interior other than front race seats, could be street driven with the exhaust bolted back on and street tires, but I have not driven on the street since I broke-in this engine in March 2006. March 2006 in street trim with full exhaust including over the rear tailpipes, 265/95 M/T street ET radials and #62 D-ports it went 11.52 @ 117 (1.66 60'). After swapping converters and removing the exhaust I was able to get a best of 10.99 @ 121.7 (1.52 60') at VMP's PIP race 19 May 2006. 1 July 2006 I swapped on a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads. I have been running the same engine combo 463/E-heads since 1 July 2006. 300+ passes on the shortblock, 200+ passes on the heads

1969 Firebird, full interior, #3535 lbs w/driver
463 CID, 103 N crank 4.21 stroke, +.035 pistons, 73 2-bolt block
Crower solid flat tappet cam
Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads
Q-jet on a Tomahwk aluminum intake manifold
VP-110 race gas
T-400, 373 gears, 30x9 Hoosier radial slicks @ 23 PSI

Quickest pass is 1.42 60', 6.55 @ 103 = half track, and 10.32 @ 128 = 1/4 mile pass

Fastest MPH is 129.9 at Cecil County, down hill...

The GTO in my sig ran 13.50@105 with 2.93 gears, L88 converter in a Th400, performer intake and 850 mechanical demon, on 87 octane. No times with 3.42 gears, RPM, or ethanol.

The Formula hasnt made a full pass with the 467 yet. best 1/8 mile was a 7.40 using only 3rd gear and going easy on it. Hoping for 9s on the motor when its sorted out.

Previously the iron headed 455 in the Formula ran a best of 11.71@115 1/4 mile, 7.69@90 1/8th with 4.10 gears, and 7.51@95 1/8 with 3.42 gears. It was severely over geared with the 4.10 gears. Weight with the iron heads and steel hood was 3750 going down the track with 5 gallons of fuel. It was street driven and had 15in vacuum at idle, very mild mannered except for the race gas.

BP ported 670 heads 11.3:1
TRW forged pistons
cast rods with ARP bolts
stock crank - balanced
UD288/296 hyd cam
1.5 crane gold rockers
TorkerII
850 Holley DP
MSD 6AL with 52 degrees total timing. Yeah 52 total.
Headman headers - two 4' x 3" lengths of straight pipe and a Summit 3" turbo style mufflers, open headers at the track
L88 converter
Th400
12 bolt from a 70 TA

The 72 455 HO Formula ran a best of 13.0 with the previous owner EnergyFx driving. What I know about it at that point was a TorkerII with 800 Edelbrock carb, Hooker super comps headers with mandrel bent 3" exhaust, 3000 stall in the Th400, and 3.70 gears, weight is around 3800lbs. It has a solid cam but I dont know the specs on it, if Ja sees this maybe he will chime in with whats all in it. I think it will go faster with a different intake, carb, a bit less gear like a 3.42, and I am thinking either a RAIV cam or a Crower hydraulic cam of similar size.
