I think he's talking about ceramic coating for the paint.

Ask the Painter how to look after it. Mine is 12 years old and still looks good. I don't wash it, but use detail spray and microfibre towel to clean it. Lots of good wax. But mine is not a daily drivers as it sounds like you want for yours. Not quite sure on the ceramic coating thing yet, could be just a gimmick.

It takes months for a paint job to finish outgassing, and would think you would want to wait until it has before applying anything on it. (other than pure carnauba wax).

The 'nano' coats are good, but are expensive. And they are usually not easy to apply CORRECTLY. Even if applied correctly, they are only good for a few years. Cleaner/polishes remove it too.

Personally, I would say use only quality waxes and polishes, as well as soaps, and there's no reason to use the 'nano' products. I'm a meguiar's fan.

Agreed. My wife negotiated a great deal on ceramic coating for her new Ford SUV she bought 3 years ago this month. When I wash it, the bead is disappearing in many placed. I may just do one of those ceramic waxes to keep her happy. 2X on Meguiars. When you have a paint job like the OP's here, you just have to accept that your hands are going to be kept busy regularly caring for your paint, there is no "magic" out there. Just sore hands and perspiration.

The 'inexpensive' 'nano' or 'ceramic' coats done by detailers are rarely applied correctly, it's more a 'fad' than anything. Now a good job does stay for a while, but they are in the 800-1200 range, which is not cost effective.

On a brand new car, that you want to be low-maintenance, it's not a bad idea. You can use 'hybrid' or combo stuff, like wash & nano, or other hybrid waxes. That's fine, but on a 'real' paint job, an above-standard paint job, you really don't want to do that crap. You need to let it breathe, wax with a pure wax or +wax with natural oils (depending on paint type), twice a year doing a cleaner/polish wax, maybe clay bar every 2-3 years.

If you look at collector grade cars, no one uses 'coatings'. No free lunch.

UV and fall-out are the 2 big killers of paint jobs. If you drive it, wash it, maybe detail-wipe before you garage it, and follow a care schedule. It's really no-brainer.

THIS^^^^ 100%. Let it cure for a long time, then keep it clean and use only the best wax. The color and execution of your car is amazing. Great choice for that color.

Car is in final assembly. I pick it up Nov 19th. Could have been sooner but he’s 7 hours away and scheduling conflicts prevent it.

Did you have the "post" trim reanodized or is it just polished? It looks great, as does the whole car.
