Default Firebird/ Camaro fender intetchangability

I have a spare 1967 Camaro passenger side fender and I would like to use it on my 67 Firebird as the one I have on my car now is rusted badly and the Camaro Fender is in pretty good shape.
I've noticed that there's a difference in the front bottom corner of the Camaro fender that there is a little protruding nub.
Can this nub be massaged out and the fender be used on the firebird to look original and has anyone done this before?
Thank you

I’ve done it a few times over the years. That Camaro fender looks like it’s had a very hard life.
