Fixing a Battery That Leaked
Hey all,
The battery in my boat tipped over and some of the acid leaked out (non-sealed lead-acid battery). I've dealt with the mess and installed a good hold-down so this won't happen again, but I'd like to refill the battery with an appropriate acid as the battery is fairly new and in good shape. I know I can't just add distilled water because that would dilute the electrolyte. So what should I put in there to get the acid level back up to where it needs to be? Is it just sulphuric acid, or is there more to it than that? Thanks for any advice!

You should be able to buy battery acid at most any auto parts store.

Well, that's simpler than I would have thought. Never new you could just buy battery acid... LOL.
Thanks!
