Default Help 67 GTO Front Disc Brake Conversion

Hello

My car started with Power Drum Brakes.

I have swapped out the front spindles with a mid 70s F body spindle and lower Control Arm and disc brakes upper control arm from Hotchkis.

All Brake lines purchased and replaced with the exception of lines from front distribution block to Master Cylinder I have not put these on yet.

Engine is stock 400ci 335hp 4bbl Stock Booster and Master Cylinder

Now the questions....

Can I run this as is without a proportioning value?
If not what would you recommend I do?
I will replace lines if needed but would rather not spend money twice.

Engine is out of car and front clip is off so easy to work on things.

As long as you are running a factory style dual reservoir master cylinder I don’t see why a factory style distribution block wouldn’t work? Your basically replicating a 2nd Gen F body set up correct?

I have the front discs from a f body but all the rest is from the 67 GTO

So would I need to replace the MC and Booster from a f body and the proportioning value also?

With front disc/rear drum, you should have a prop valve in the rear circuit. I did the conversion on my '67, bought a combination dist block/prop valve and replaced the original dist block.

if you do that, now would be a good time since the dist block/prop valve will need some messaging of the brake lines. You could do it the OEM way with the stuff mounted at the M/C also. I chose the aftermarket way.

I also stayed with manual brakes, just to have better access to the firewall/clutch area.

Can you tell me where you got the combo distribution proportioning value?
