Default RAIII Formulas at the TA Nationals

There were 3 RAIII Formulas at this years event (that I saw). There was a twin to mine but loaded and restored along with a Vedero Green/green deluxe Formula driver. ..pretty cool.

Thx for the pics, Dennis. Nice to see the RA III Formies!

I'd hoped to make it down on Sunday AM, but didn't get far enough along on my "chores" on Saturday

I think you are right...Lucy Blue was a popular color. I wonder if there was ever a breakdown by color for the Formula's like I believe there is for TA's (Rocky's book?)?

I don't recall seeing a breakdown of Formula colors...

I just did a quick count of the RAIII cars I've saved info on over the years...

12 Lucy Blue ones, 32 other colors.

Not likely statistically significant... but that's about 1 in 4 being Lucerne. It was almost certainly the most common color on a Formula in '70.

Can’t argue that. There is evidence it had at least 1 option added by the dealer not on the PHS I am undecided as to if I should leave it or remove them

Rich, I found this in Rocky's great book:

There were a total of 689 Ram Air III's of which 293 with M40's, 15 with M13's, 192 with M20's, and 189 with M21's.

FAB, What options did your Formula come with? I see it had a vinyl roof, we know RAIII engine, what about the rest? Cool car!

Dennis, thanks for using the book as a reference. I can say that those are as accurate as we know today.

What I will say is that the Trans Am color breakdown is incorrect! When I submitted the .xls files, something in formatting got transposed and the blue-to-white color numbers are off. I planned to correct this in a subsequent printing, but Cartech opted to not reprint the book after the initial run sold out...
