'64 Catalina 2+2 value/desireablity
I came across this, I think I'll probably buy it, the guy threw out $2k when I asked him what he wanted for it. It's a 4-speed car, he has the original 389 & 4-speed trans, along with the hood, in storage at his house. The floor pans are solid, all the glass is good and it has the 8-lug wheels. My question is what would any of you be willing to pay?

As a side note, if anyone is looking for a project car, this guy has about 15 similar cars on this property, 7 or 8 of them are ragtops, one of them being a '67.

The 8 lugs, tilt column and 4 speed stuff is easy your money back.

That would make a neat car IMO because I am into the early 60s big Pontiacs and really like them, but a person would never get their money back even at a starting price of $2k. $35k is the most that car would bring restored to #1 condition and doing that would cost a bundle. +2 on what Bob said re getting your money back at $2k but it would take awhile so you better have someplace to put it as you pull the stuff off of it as people sign on.

It is worth every penny of $2k, but as stated previously, the cost of a total restoration is next to impossible to get back from these cars. Buy it, restore it, and enjoy having a rare big Pontiac that will almost always be the only one at any event you attend.
