Default K&N Carburetor Injection

Thought this was an interesting concept, but at $700, does not seem like they would compete well against the SNIPER and Fitech. Maybe would work well on larger HP levels where the standard 4-injector models fall short?

I think it's a cool idea, but you hit the nail on the head. The pricing is all wrong.

I just picked up a FiTech Go Street 400 for my wife's mild chevelle for 795. The only place where pricing the ECI may be beneficial is in the additional fuel system needed to run it's injector.

For what it's worth, the entire EFI setup for my Wife's chevelle from EFI ready tank, in-tank pump, fitting, lines and head unit was just over 1500 shipped. Mine for the same thing, but the bigger FiTech unit came in around 1700.

I noticed these units are shipping now...

I was not able to find any reviews online, so am assuming they are not flying off the shelves. While I think the pricing is a little high- it is an interesting product in that it uses a single low pressure injector to essentially help the carb in cold starts and part throttle efficiency. Since it does not require a high pressure pump or different tank, I suppose K&N is thinking their solution is a "value" for guys who simply want to improve general drive-ability with their carb.

Something like this might work well for someone with a high horsepower engine and a big holley that is not very street friendly.. The injector would help you out on cold start and low speed operation, and still have the capacity of a big carb on the strip.

Would not surprise me if we see the price of these units coming down given the competition from the Sniper and FiTech.

The main advantage to this idea over a dedicated FI system is if it completely fails the engine will still run. If it was under $500 I might give it a go.

Seems like a waste to me. There are far more advantages to FI than not having to pump the gas before starting.

Still, it's an interesting concept. If it was cheaper (a lot cheaper), I could see a few people running it. But for the money they're asking, no way Jose.

Might be useful for a blow-through where you really don't see people running a choke.

Really, if you have a good ignition system and set up the choke properly, I don't see what's so bad about a carburetor.

Maybe the idea is you tune your car really lean and let this thing pick up the slack with the injector?

I wonder if you could set up the carb lean, and use it to keep the mixture perfect? That's the only thing I would use it for. That's a pretty big spacer though.

Correct, that is exactly how I understand it.
