Question Another "Where does this wire go" thread - 68 new to me GTO

Sadly, I am very picky about under-dash wiring. I picked up a 68 GTO vert recently and well, there are a few wires under the dash that are simply not connected anywhere. Suppose now is a good time to pickup a wiring diagram, but until I get one, hoping the experts here can help.

First pic is the back-side of the drivers door light switch. The switch works and activates the interior lights when opened, but I can't help but wonder why it has a dangling black wire next to the connected white wire?

Second pic comes from behind the fuse block. There was a black wire with its end stripped, just hanging off the back side of the fuse block. It's not grounded and there is no power to it with or w/o the ignition on. I though maybe someone had run it through the firewall from the engine side, so I unbolted the fuse block only to find it's part of the harness coming in.

I have more wires that need identifying, so figure I will just update this post with the additional bastard wires I find in hopes you guys can help ID them.

Seriously, thank you internet strangers!

The door switch should have two terminals. One for the dome light (white) the other for the key alarm (black)

In my photo the white wire appears to be green, it's not.

The second photo looks to be the parking brake wire.

You are right! I will connect up the loose door switch wire and see if the key buzzer works - guessing not.

Also, I did notice the car is missing its parking brake light switch, so that problem is solved as well.

While I have ya here (and instead of creating a new thread), I found some numbers on the Quadrajet (pic attached).
Numbers are: 28263VD 1699
A quick google shows this would be the correct carb for my 68 4speed, BUT the correct carb numbers start with a 70. So google shows 7028263VD

Why would my Quadrajet have the "70" missing from the front, but the following numbers correct? Also, what does the 1699 mean at the end?

Looks to be a service replacement. Julian dated the 169th day of 69. (June 18, 1969)
Original 68 carbs have the assembly date at the rear of the throttle (base) plate

Very cool, guessing early on it had carb issues and this was a replacement unit in 69?
I've attached a current baseplate stamping (2567) and general pic of the carb. My car is a late 67 build, maybe it still retains the original baseplate?

It appears to be the original base.
I would have assumed the replacement carb would have come with a baseplate.
Could have been a previous owner replacement in the last 50+ years.
