Default OEM floor mats from Rubber Queen

I don't know if you all know that Rubber Queen still makes the mats used as original equipment in GM cars during the mid to late 70s or early 80s. For the TATA guys, they even have it in gray. The only thing is, I don't know who retails them. It is model 6363 shown at the bottom of page 4 of the catalog:

http://www.rubberqueen.com/PDF/catalog.pdf

I emailed them asking if they ever considered making them in all of the GM interior colors for the car collector market. We'll see if they answer. I wonder if the restoration parts sellers ever contacted them about doing this.

Regards,
Warren

The local auto parts stores around here used to stock them about 5 years ago & I've used them in lots of T/A's.
They look GREAT! Very similar to the OEM ones but NO GM logo.
It appears they've cut some colors:red & blue are no longer listed.
The blue was a pretty good match to 71-71 T/A interior color.
I've seen them come up on Ebay fron time to time.

Post back if they answer your e-mail. I happened across those very same mats a while back but didn't pursue it.

The ones you're looking at are their PN 6363, the "Sprint" design, correct? I'll wager that Rubber Queen was the OEM GM supplier by the looks of them!

Might ask if we could direct order a Master Carton - 6 sets - and break up the colors.

I'd take two beige sets and a black set if they'll do it that way.

Thanks!

Ha - a little sleuthing paid off. Amazon.com has them, but in beige only.

Here's the link:

It's a shame that nobody, and I mean nobody sells these darned things on-line, except those beige ones I found on Amazon.com. I'll bet I've spent over an hour searching the 'net so far - no luck.

I think I'll order a couple sets for my GTO's and I'll let you know how they fit and look.

The pic appears black, but if you look down the page a little at the "Product Description", it states that the color is "gold-beige".

I haven't heard back from Rubber Queen yet. I sent the message via their HTML email. I also tried to send it by my email reader to info@rubberqueen.com but I got an undeliverable message back. There must be distributors around otherwise they wouldn't be in business! But I haven't seen any Rubber Queen products around these days.

Oops - forgot to post about the mats.

They appear absolutely identical to the 70's GM mats, excepting the for the lack of a GM logo of course. Quality looks fine, and the beige color is even dark enough to go fairly well in with the saddle carpeting in both of my GTO's.

Certainly can't beat the price, and I'll bet that very few people will notice the lack of the GM logo.

Now - I need a black set for my Formula!

Wish that PY would contact RQ about making some repops WITH the GM logo!

BTW, I tried sales@rubberqueen.com

We'll see.

Smile Rubber Queen mats may be a mirage

Guys I wouldn't get to excited about getting these from Amazon.com. I ordered 2 sets of the beige mats in November. My order was accepted and confirmed just like some of yours probably have been. 30 days later I got an email that said my order was cancelled due to the item being out of stock. Apparently Amazon.com will accept your order but I do not believe any mats will ever be delivered. If you do happen to get delivery, please let me know as I will order them again.
Thanks and good luck!

Default Rubberqueen floormats

Well I finally got my floor mats today. It took about 3 weeks but they finally came in. I ordered 4 sets altogether. (2 sets for each car... 2 grey and 2 beige) They look great. I was sceptical that they were available but scatpac was right, if you call them directly and ask for them specifically they might be able to find some buried in the back.

Well I contacted Sue and got the last 3 sets of dark red (carmine) mats they had left in inventory. I'll take photos when I get them. I will probably sell one of the sets.

OK, I ordered a truck load last Thursday. They came today......NICE!

I was told by Bob at Rubber Queen That they were the supplier for GM original eqpt. floor mats, These are nice people!

As stated earlier the backs have been totally discontinued. The fronts are still made in Black and Gray. I bought only Black because that is what I need.
I will be listing Four pairs of these in black in the FIREBIRD PARTS FOR SALE SECTION

Well the red mats came in. They aren't quite the same as the GM mats. They tweeked them a little.

Here's the original that has darkened considerably over the years:

Here's the Rubber Queen mats I bought back in the early 80s at a Kmart:

You can see the only difference is the GM logo is removed.

Here is the newer style I just got from them:

The entire top has been changed but the bottom is identical. The color is more maroon than red.
