Default 64 grand prix steering

Hi, I have a 1964 Grand Prix with a 389.
The steering arm is hitting the oil pan/ drain plug And it has dented the oil pan in, not enough for it to leak but i would like to correct the steering so that it is where it should be.
Is anyone else having this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it.
Thanks
