I concur with KS, Windows Defender is much better and built-in.
Instead of re-installing, you could check to see if Windows System Restore is enabled and revert your system to the day before the incident like it never happened. Alternatively, you could primarily perform a deep scan with Defender and then a secondary offline scan with a tird party offline scanner: https://publish-cms.mcafee.com/en-gb...s/stinger.html

Excellent, I forgot about system restore.
BTW; Apple has it's very own set of problems.. My daily driver laptop is using Linux Mint.

Might want to do a search on "Mac OS viruses" ... you'll see PLENTY.
And ... they all are the more dangerous because so many Apple users have somehow gotten the idea that they are immune.

It can cause problems big-time.
