Is it possible to install older carbs/linkage
on newer manifolds?Have what I believe to be a 61 set up.Would like to install carbs/linkage on a 65 manifold.Front carb # is 7013063,C 61 21.Rear carb # is 7013065,C 61 16.Also center carb missing tag so don't know what # it should be.Manifold has no casting# but resembles 64 manifold. Are older carbs same cfm as newer carbs? The 61 carbs are basically the same all the way up to 66. (65 on the center) Some of the earlier center carbs have an elongated throttle shaft that will have to be replaced.

tom,
If you look VERY closely on the side of the carb you'll see a circle sort of stamped in the side or rather cast in and it has numbers that go around in a circle and this should help identify the center carb. david |

At W.O.T. are the end carbs supposed to be all the way open? With the linkage touching the limiting stops on the base plates mine are only 7/8 open?
Which gaskets are correct to use when installing the 65 intake onto 6X heads? Or does this require some fabrication? The drivers side appears to be able to use the 72 up gasket but the heat riser port on the passenger side looks to high for this gasket? Thanks for any help,Tom |

I can't answer your gasket questions, but the end carbs should be all the way open when tab hits the stop on the throttle body. If they are not, bend the tab until the desired result is achieved.
