Have a 65 tempest wagon. When you roll down the rear window their is a metal suport inside the door that rides right on the glass and has scratched the glass. Question: is that support needed is thier a fix that some one might know

If it's what I am thinking of; that bracket is meant to rub the glass and to prevent any rattles. From the factory it was covered with a "fuzzy" felt strip that was glued on with contact cement. If you need the strip I think I have an NOS piece of it, the strip will wear off or fall off over time and I think that is what has happened with yours.

try buffing the glass with a compound called jewelers rouge. this is an ultrafine grit and works well on glass if the damage isn't too deep. mike
