74 Formula Value??????
Any body have an idea what a 74 Formula 400 would be worth? Admirality Blue, light blue custom interior,35000 miles, automatic,no ac.Originally 2 bbl,now has correct 4 bbl and ram air.Interior is real nice, bad headliner, dash pad is curled up bad,but nice console seats, etc.Paint was redone in the 80,s,and it is checked from one end to the the other,so it needs stripped and painted. No rust issues.I am not looking to flip, but i would be keeping hopefully for many years.I have an idea what i think its worth, but looking for another opinion.I made an offer which i think was way more than it was worth, and he keeps trying to squeeze me for more.Any ideas???

I bought this Admiralty Blue, 400/4-speed car last year for $8250. Pictured is a Buccaneer Red, 400/auto that was bought for under $6000 and the Regatta Blue, 350/auto (actually repainted an off Admiralty Blue) for less than $2000 (rough). |

From the pics that looked like an excellant buy.I passed on the Black Mn car.He sent me some undercarriage shots ,and panel under the rear bumper is rusted out and dented, pulled or something.I would be willing to paint the right car,but everybody wants showcar money for cars that need redone.I offered the guy 15k for the blue 74 and he turned me down. Now i think i would pass for that dough. It is know one of those 2 fools met kinda deals.

I looked at the black car yesterday. I think you made the right decision. And, I hear you on what people are asking to do a repaint.

I bought my car three years ago for $4500. The interior was rough and required a lot of cosmetic work and panel replacements. The drivetrain was good and unmessed with. It needed paint and a couple of small rust spots fixed. I am lucky to have a good body and paint guy in town who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for good work. My paint isn't show car level, but this isn't a show car. I think $15K would be way too much for the car in question. JMHO.

to me the '74 T/A 400 prices would be the best guide minus about 20% for a similar option/condition Formula 400. A rare Formula might bring T/A money but for the most part the Formula values are capped under the T/A prices.

As I posted on my car, I paid $8250 late last year and I believe I spent more than I should have. But, no shipping costs cross country helped make the decision. Have you been watching the eBay auctions? This one is up within 2 days and no reserve (200337115041).

I'd guess around $6-7k if it's clean, being a non original Ram Air car and an auto.
