Default Flywheel ID

Hey folks,
I've got a real nice steel M/T flywheel that I want to use. But I don't know what it came off. The p/n is 5256104 and date code is E176. Any ideas?

P.S. looking at the clutch wear marks, it appears to have had an 11" disc on it

Appears to be a Pontiac 11" flywheel since the back side of the pressure plate bolts are into the ring gear. Casting date indicates a May 17 of 66 or 76.

Tom
Thanks Tom. I called the guy that I got it from 10 years ago and he confirmed that it came from a 76 T/A with a 400/4 speed. Now I neet to figure out if I can use it on a 74 400 with an M20 behind it. Should I get an 11" clutch setup? Do I have to think about which starter to use and the number of teeth on the flywheel?

I believe that the hub diameter on the later crankshafts, starting in 75, are smaller. Therefore this will NOT work on a 74 engine if it has the original crankshaft.

Good Point, It might be a Late & Early 1975 Thing,
My Early 75 build pontiac 400 had the larger ring from the factory,
when I switched to a Later built 75 400 it had the smaller ring like a 1976

Gets me every time -
The mid year switch is always in 1975 it's never as easy as 70-75 & 76-81 for me LOL!,

I got stuck with fixing up 2 cars built in the same year, one built in January and the other in August, I bought a A mid year 75 parts car and a 76 parts car, Its like
roulette to see which car will get the donor parts I found, nothing is ever the same!

You guys are right on! Won't fit!

See anything wrong with throwing it on a Bridgeport and opening up the hole?
