Default Vacuum source for PCV

I'm replacing the Edelbrock carb on my 400 with a Q-Jet that doesn't have a PCV connection on the front. I'm thinking of drilling and tapping a 3/4" phenolic spacer and attaching a fitting to the front of it as a vacuum source. Is this a good location for a PCV vacuum source?

Yep, done that myself. Have also done it with aluminum spacers.
