Hmmmm --- I bought the switch a few years ago and was told that it was a NOS 65 big car head light switch. However, I haven't bothered to match it against another 65 switch, maybe I should. You have my curiosity up.

if your switch worked for 23 years, why are you asking? look at the connector and tell what switch pattern you need.

Default Headlight switch

My switch has worked for 23 yrs.I replaced it just after I got the car,the dash lights would blink and I would have to "jiggle" and turn the knob and stem to get them working.I got a switch from a local auto supply . So now within the last 6 mos the dash lights have gone out,I tried the "wiggle' method it worked for a few weeks then finally gave out.In writing here I found out that there is only one switch that will work .I pulled the switch the other day and found the plastic on 2 connectors were burned and melted some and a different configuartion than other 65 GM big cars I checked ( a Buick 225,an Olds 98)my plug in not a solid plastic plug but has 3 seperate plastic connectors. I have totally confused my self on this issue my headlights work but no dashlights. None of the auto stores list this switch anymore Delco D 1462 as so I was told here..............................Larry

As with a lot of headlight switches each year,make/model tend to be unique unto themselves. Not always, but usually.
With those burnt connectors you either have a bad headlight switch or your dimmer switch could be going bad. Bad dimmer switches can cause the hadlight switch to overload. Been there, done that.

Go luck, Jim
