1970 GTO Judge 455 4 speed convertible.
I have recently found an original owner of a triple tan 1970 Judge 455 convertible sold at a Boston Mass dealer.
He told me it was a four-speed car but I thought all 455 judges were automatic. Sorry he doesn't know the VIN #, But remembers Ram Air, buckets, console, gauge package. The number of 455 judge convertibles must be quite small, combined with the color combination even fewer. Could it still be out there?

Sounds like a very cool car.
I am going off of memory which isn’t Exactly what it used to be however, I believe there were 3 1970 455HO Judge Convertibles built? And yes that drive train was absolutely available with a Manual transmission. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

And yes, Unlike the GTO, Ram Air would have been standard with the Judge package.

My records say NO 4 speed 455 HO Judges HT and convertible?
17 L75 engined Judges made in 1970 all automatic, 7 with A/C (HT and convertible) GTO's could be had with the manual transmission with the L75. 158 manual trans GTO convertibles made.

Maybe it's a judge clone since it has a four-speed. A 455, ram air, 4-speed convertible would still be a good one.

Those 1970 non-judge 455 cars are getting pricey relative to other GTO's over the years.
A 70 4 speed ragtop in very nice shape sold for almost $100k on BAT this fall.

Does it still exist???
Just to clarify, this is a memory of the original owner who purchase a brand new, 1970 GTO Judge 455 4 speed convertible, in 1970, at a Pontiac dealer in the Boston Massachusetts area.
It's not a vehicle, or a clone, it probably doesn't exist anymore, however, if it does still exist, possibly the current owner would be interested in talking to the original owner, once again if it still exists.

It would be cool if he could find an old registration or something with the VIN on it.

I've asked him if he could dig up more information on the car, or a picture would be nice. He said he would. I'll post any additional information he provides.

The answer please
So combining the information from Johnta1 and Uncle Judge. Is the answer 17 455 automatic only 1970 GTO Judge convertible and hardtop, and only 3 455
Judge convertibles.? 7 with AC, distribution between convert and HT unknown?

The data was from Fred Simmonds notes.
The 7 L75 with A/C may have been for all GTO. But I think it is for WT1/Judges.

I always meet original owners' memories with a healthy dose of skepticism.
"I pegged the speedometer at 150 one night coming home from work!" And it had what rear gears, sir? "I ordered it with 4.10s right from the dealer." Uhh-huh. But a VIN find and then PHS would be awesome.
