Question 1968 "SQUARE" Coil Info neeed...

Hey, 1st Gen owners looking for some info on the coil used in '68.
This is a small square coil. I'm not sure if this was a Firebird only and/or if was just '68. The only ones I have ever come across were on Firebird OHC's.

Any info on the use/application for this coil is greatly appreciated.

Also, anyone know of similar replacment/

Thanks!

I saw one on a 67 LeMans OHC 6 Sprint convertible a few years ago. But a friend of mine with a 67 LeMans OHC 6 Sprint had the regular round coil.
Then I did see a diagram of one in one of the assembly manuals ( not sure 69 ?? ) the diagram showed the square coil on the OHC 6.
Things that make you go ( what the heck ?? ) Maybe I can find the picture I took.
