Default Compression Test Numbers - what to expect?

I am about to do a compression test on the 462 11.5:1 motor in my signature.
What sort of compression numbers should I expect ?

I think once you have all Cylinder pressures marked down you will find your issue!
Probably over #175 & up I would be happy with. I know that motor very well & it was very strong!

Hi John !
It is still very strong after switching from the solid race cam and lifters to the more street friendly 60919...and to match the lower stall and gears (3:08)
But the #2 plug is getting heavy carbon, so I am testing to check it and get reference #"s recorded.

It will be interesting to see the #'S from Cylinder 2 compared to the rest. Did you change the valve seals. Can you pull the cover on that side & do a visual after you check the compression. Never know I've seen seals lifted off the seat.

Mine used to do 225'ish with a 246/253 cam. 230 to 235 with a 230 cam.

I replaced all the valve seals as the new springs had smaller inner diameter. They are the blue/ metal type. But that will easy to check.

Default Time to upgrade!

Maybe it's time to upgrade to a 535!!!!!
I'm thinking to upgrade to an all Aluminum block with a pro charger set up! There's a IIAII pump gas motor with SD Daves top end PKG. in your area!!!
I'm thinking about a street combo with a pro charger & 1000hp.

I know...but it was a compromise at the time.
The RPM was not in stock and I was rushing to make the Bandit Run.

With my flat air cleaner cover, I had maybe 1.25in. clearance with the turbo hood. Figured with a bubble top lid (which it should have) I would lose that clearance. Even though the motor is used to running on the track at 6000+ , I would not be taking it there driving around town.

Not an expensive upgrade when I need it however. I had to cut the intake .080 to get it to fit, so no return is possible either.
