Default Pictures of your 61-63 Lemans/Tempest

I love to see these car/wagons, can you post your pictures of them?

Heres mine, 1962 conv. I have had this car for 15 years now and drive it almost daily. I live about 30 miles south east of Tom S. and I have had the good luck to have seen most of Toms toys.

Hey 63Banshee, that one looks a lot like my first Tempest. This is a picture of it circa 1966. (I had it with me when I lived in Texas in '69)

1962tempest - this was one of my favorite cars at Norwalk this year - love the car, the color, the performance.

Just couldn't figure out why the car was entered into the Street and not Modified class? Anyhow, I was rooting for you until you lit the cherry!

Care to share your impressive combo - when I went by the car in the pit area (parked next to your trailer) several times I noticed the hood was never open.......

Default 62 tempest

Thanks for the words. Yea I went .019 red and the guy I raced had a .134. I ran in the street class because I run dot tires and full exhaust so it fits that class. The car weighs 3434 with me in it. The motor is 456ci, edelbrocks,victor,850 speed demon,260's solid roller, pretty ordinary stuff. I run a turbo 400, 9" ford w/4:10's. The car has run a best of 10.30 @ 131.
Thanks:Rick

Progress has been extremely slow on mine. But this was thread was a great reason to push it out of the garage and take some pics. Now I gotta get off my A$$ and get to work.

Thumbs up

1962Tempest ,Very nicely done I love it. But then Im partial to the 61-62s LOL. Would you care to share how you hung the rear end in the car? What shocks etc? It looks like you have it leaving real nice. I just dont see why the racers would want a Trans AM. THESE CARS ARE WAY COOL. Scott

That blacked-out grille looks absolutely FANTASTIC! I'm going round and round about how I might make a similar mod to my red LeMans, but I'm afraid it might only look good with dark colors (black, blue, ...) If you have more pictures - especially of the underhood and chassis setup, you should post 'em.

I agree 100% on the grill look. I like the 61 grill the best but I have two 62's so this may be a cheap option instead of switching over to 61 parts.

I have 2 gilles for my 62, both are far from being show quality. I am going to try to get most of the dents out of the worst one and try a red-out front on my car.
