Default Tach in place of clock

I am changing my 72 back to 100% street. I want to get rid of the tach on the steering column. Has anyone installed a reproduction tach in place of the clock?
What is involved?

Reach behind the dash, pull lighting and orange power leads, loosen the three mounting screws, turn clock slightly and remove.
IIRC the 71/72 tachs and clocks had slotted mounts making it easier to R/R.
You will need a fused tach lead from the coil, available from our sponsor.

Photos from my 68, your's will be similar.

I did that last winter in my 71 GTO. Not quite as easy as it sounds. Especially if you have factory A/C. The first thing I did was remove the driver's seat. Makes it a lot easier. If you do not have A/C, things will be easier. I did it for the same reason. Worth it in the end.
