Been watching old Carol Burnette show
I've been watching old Carol Burnette shows on ME TV.Last night was with Tim Conway. Oh hilarious. The actors even try to hide their laughing. Tim Conway was Simba the Lion that Carol and Harvey adopted. Harvey wants Simba to go back to the jungle. Hilarious.

Yes they were hilarious. I wonder how much ad libbing Tim did? I never saw Simba before. Miss Wiggins, the Dentist, yes,Harvey Korman added something also.

I watched an interview with Carol years back and she said that Tim would adlib all the time. That's why they couldn't keep a straight face. He come out of the blue with something and they would just lose it.

Tim Conway and Robin Williams were the kings of ad-libbing

I can only imagine their hilarity. Seeing Harvey rolling on the floor,Carol trying to hide her laughter. Tim missed putting knife into scabbard, shoved it down the front center of his pants!!

I was in high school and my mother loved this show...she would laugh hysterically at not only the humor, but at watching the other actors try to maintain composure and ultimately fail. I was a teen and didn't really pay much attention to the content of the show at the time.
Until later in life, flipping thru the channels.....and turns out it's now among my favorite funny shows from that era. Conway was a master.....very sharp like Jonathan Winters, who inspired Robin Williams and many others. |
