Question on 69 bird blower fan removal
I'm sure this question has come up before, but can the blower motor be removed from a 69 bird without passenger fender removal?
I really don't want to go there, as it's never been off the car, but if i have to, I have to. I'm hoping to just remove the inner fender to access it if it's possible. Any advice is much appreciated. PS- it's a non-AC car. Thanks in advance! |

Go down about a page in this section, there is a thread on exactly this a few weeks ago. Short answer is cut an access hole in the inner fender to access the blower motor or remove the fender as one unit with the inner fender.

I’d rather remove the inner fender than cut a hole in a perfectly good piece of GM sheet metal , but to each his own

I cut mine, it was a repro inner anyway. Mine was the thread mentioned. It actually went really well, but I understand if someone wouldnt want to do it that way.
For me, its that doing it the long way, taking the hood and fender off is a two man job. I like to solve things myself. I didnt want to have to rope someone into my problems.

Thanks for all replies. I ended up taking the fender off; didn't want to cut inner fender.
Very easy to replace blower motor & heater core now. Now I just have to deal with aligning the fender. Not the end of the world. |
