"The car is not equipped with a radio, but it is equipped with a Hurst floor shifter."
Seems like a fair trade. It's in Pete's book - #151, built 7/31. Aluminum hood, bumpers, steel fenders, 8 lugs. Dealer 17-079, which is Colonial Pontiac in Miami Florida. K

It's in the list of SD cars in Pete McCarthy's book so it's legit. I did notice his book says it was a steel fender car and the auction listing says it has aluminum fenders.

Dang, The one I used to own was rarer that I thought. I only saw 2 listed that said aluminum Sheetmetal. The one I owned had a steel trunk lid but the hood, inner fenders, fenders, front & rear bumpers & brackets were aluminum and I believe the radiator support was aluminum too. My memory's a little foggy on that one. I sold the car in 1985.

SD Cat
Unfortunately, these old Pontiac`s don`t seem to get the numbers they use to. That`s one of the reasons I sold my 62 SD G/P a couple of years ago and also one of the reasons I won`t restore my 62 SD Catalina.

That seems to be the case unfortunately. My days of buying are in hold for the time being while putting my kids through college. But, when I do inevitably buy something it’ll be an SD car.
I love this one great paint / interior combination. Was for sale a while back but not sure what ultimately happened https://www.motortrend.com/features/...na-super-duty/ Last edited by nmoreilly; 11-11-2022 at 05:06 PM. |

SD
No my car was black with light fawn interior, the only 1 of the 4 known to have it`s original numbers matching drivetrain. Original paint & interior too. It`s now being restored under the new ownership in Ohio.
Sold the SD G/P and got the Hemi Cuda.

Interesting, this BAT SD Cat appears to have been purchased by Milton Robson, whose Pontiac collection was covered extensively in HPP.
