Scott,

One of the very few pictures I took happened to be with the Gremlin and your friend's Buick.

That 11 second Gremlin sounds more like a F.A.S.T. car than pure stock. I'm guessin it's real light?

The Gremlin XR401 is a dealership transplant car in the same vein as the early Yenko or Motion Camaros (pre-COPO) where you could order your 401 in a level of performance you desired and could afford. This is the only known legit Randall 401 Gremlin with original owner documentation and pictures when new from Randall after the conversion.

The OO ordered it with a hi-po Crane cam (solid?), Holley 750 DP on an Edlebrock hi-rise dual plane intake, Hooker headers, and a 4.10 rear end. That's pretty much how the car was rebuilt today except for a complete roller cam and valve train. The rear gear might have been switched to a 3.73 IIRC. It was weighed at the race with Scott driving at 3005 lbs. It isn't a pure stocker or even a FAST car for that matter for all the obvious aftermarket engine parts.

Doesn't matter if that Gremlin isn't PS or FAST ...it was really rare and bad ass!!!

So glad to see you had a successful event Dennis despite all the weirdness going on.

Just for the record, there are plenty of 11 second cars that fit the Pure Stock rules

Of course it was one of my red light runs! Just trying to be out in front of the Gremlin for at least a fraction of a second. I guess that I succeeded, lol! If there's any redemption, I think that my next run after this one is when I cut my 0.001 light on Friday.

Thanks again for all you and the Team do to put on this event. Always a great time and something that we all really needed this year!

Thanks Larry! Yes, 2020 is one for the record books as the strangest and most surreal! We were nervous about what kind of turnout we would have, but if the Canadian border wasn't closed and COVID wasn't around to deal with, we would have had 125 - 130 cars...but, we can't complain about the turnout we did get. We really love to host it for the guys and gals that understand and appreciate what we do. We'll keep doing it as long as there is interest.

We had 5 cars in the 11's, one breaking out with an 11.41. Paul Aragona in his '74 SD455 Formula ran an 11.92! So is officially the quickest SD455 Bird in Pure Stock history.

Arrowhead - Thanks for bringing your cool stripper '70 Skylark to the race. It's always great to see new cars and uncommon ones like your 350 4-bbl! It ran great and looks awesome as well.
