Here are several photos of the NOS emblem for painting layout. It appears that the factory "ink stamped" these emblems. This NOS emblem is very brittle and all but shatters when dropped, if it is or was a flexible urethane at any point in it's life it definitely is not anymore. The brokenn pieces appear to be a solid resin internally. The exterior almost felt somewhat flexible but it snaps like glass when tested. It may have been an "endura" resin when new but has since solidified.

The silver and black colors appear to be very low sheen, satin like but 50+ years in a box the ink most likely has degraded. The colors do not scratch or chip like paint would and it definitely is a topical application, not two different colors of resin for the emblem is all the same color at it's core.

Thank you for posting those pics of NOS original, they are darker than I expected. I test fit mine on a 400 bumper I had off and compared it to the old repro and it definitely locates better doesn’t move around . Very happy with it.

It fit very well, followed contours perfectly IMO

Folk's, those are not my emblems. From what I see they look very very similar to the emblems sold by Michael Anderson out of California decades ago. I actually had several of his version years ago and still have one in stock. What I have of his is pretty decent but not exact in dimensions and does not fit the bumper contours correctly. I actually made mine because of no accurate reproduction was available. If someone has interest in one of his I have one left and will sell it for $ 125.00 + shipping (actual).

On another note, I have been told that AMES purchased Michael Anderson's remaining inventory of the eBay emblems that Michael was selling from years/decades ago. I also think the eBay seller (based on screen name and selling location) may be Ron Johnson of Potomac Pontiac. I know Ron and he has always treated me very well and consider him friend, stand up guy in my book. But as for the emblems being a new reproduction, maybe new to AMES but I question newly produced. Perhaps these are, I have no way to confirm.

In defense of the eBay emblem, it was the closest to being accurate that I was aware of back then but that ship has since sailed.

The Michael Anderson emblem that I had and offered up for sale mentioned above has been sold and shipped. Thanks to all who inquired.

I have both the Timjohns and anderson Tim’s are better no doubt . The benefit of the anderson is that it’s finished and if you don’t have a high dollar car it’s better than the 67-68 in fit and finish

The Tim John ones locate positively in the bumper holes and do not move the rear braces are correct and the nuts are correct. The anderson ones are not they are a two piece back plate unless you have your own from and old one this won’t be correct.
I have pics of both sitting on a 400 bumper if I can find the pics I’ll post both. Outwardly they aren’t that different for a driver if you can keep it perfectly centered . Tim Johns were definitely worth the extra money. IMO

Good afternoon all, I am putting a feeler out there to see if there is continued interest in more emblems. I have a few folks in need and if I were to produce more, is there interest in doing so beyond the short list I currently have. I do not want to buy excess raw materials if the interest is not there. Please send me a PM if you would like an emblem or two, three, etc. I do not want to go into full blown production full time, but I do want to help out fellow forum members when I can. Thank You.

Anyone who has bought these - do you have the correct color paint you used to finish these? Don't want to do trial and error on a $200+ part....

Argent Silver, Satin black is what appears to be correct when compared to the NOS emblem.

Any chance you could reproduce the 67-68 version with sane quality as the 69?

Thanks

Hello Tim,
If you're still considering another run, I'm interested in another copy.

Tim, put me on the list for the 400 emblem. Mine is getting some cracks in it, 55 years later (built in 68).

Doing a parts inventory for my project . . .
Does anyone know what the original GM part number for the '69 bumper nose emblem was? I can't seem to locate that.
