Default 68 Power Rack and Pinion

Has anyone found a rack and pinion that installs well in the 68 GTO? Talked to Unisteer and they said they do not recommend their 68 A-Body (Chevelle) unit for Pontiacs. Have run into problems with that before. Can't afford a Flaming River. Anyone have a recommendation?

Rack and pinions in A body's specifically are typically a losing endeavor. The way they mount in the stock frame creates a lot of bump steer.

I would instead spend the money on a good Lee Power Steering or Turn 1 box. You're going to get 90% of the feel without the issues that come along with converting to rack and pinion with the stock frame.
