1970 GTO door jamb switch question
I found the door jamb switches for the power seat back release harness and drilled and tapped the jamb at the dimple. All looks good except the door edge does not depress the switches on either side. My gaps all look good.
Question: When the jamb switches are fully screwed in flush with the jamb, should the door depress them or are they made to be screwed out a bit for adjustment. If they are meant to be fully screwed in, then I suppose something is off with my door geometry. |

I thought the guts slide out and when you shut the door they adjust

Hey Scott,
The problem is that the closed door does not touch the switches, so I either have to screw out the switches to bring them closer to the door or move the door closer to the switches (which messes up my gaps). |

The door jamb switch is threaded to allow for some adjustment with a nut to tighten it at the correct depth.
If it was fully extended and there was no contact, it would most likely require the door be adjusted. |

I've never seen a nut on a door jamb switch, but it makes sense. Thanks.

Took another look and you're right, the "nut" is fixed. The depth is still adjustable though, so you don't affect your gaps.
