Identify Shift Plate
Good morning,
I would appreciate any help in identifying the shift plate from my car. I've attached a picture. It has the following numbers on the back; 64095 & 9776299 64079 & 9776298 65136 9781520 I'm the 3rd owner so I don't know for sure but I'm assuming the car originally came with a 2 speed powerglide and one of the previous owners replaced it with a TH350 (and a 400). I want to buy a new 3 speed shift indicator, backing plate and lamp housing for a TH350 but don't know if it will fit this shift plate. Any help would be appreciated. You all have a good day. |

It looks like the shift plate in my '63 GP.
I can check when I get home. I put a TH400 my car and purchased just the clear plastic PRNDL lens. K

Trshman:
My 64 grand prix is 64095, 97753x and64075, 977454. It had a t400 when I got it but the shifter was never adapted to the shift pattern. I installed a shiftworks shifter and changed the pndlr plate to a prndll plate. I do have a question for Kevin. in his response, the pict shows the shift lever next to the driver. My gp has it next to the passenger. Different year? Mario64 |

Good eye.
I looked through a bunch of photos on the internet and it definitely seems to be a design change between '63 and '64. K

Here's the clear shift indicator.
Looks like I trimmed the length to get it to crimp into the lamp housing. K
