What carb-#?

1974 and earlier Pontiac Q-jets uses only a primary choke pull-off connected to a full manifold vacuum source on floatbowl passenger side next to fuel inlet.

1975 and later Pontiac Q-jets also uses a primary pull-off and in addition to this a secondary choke pull-off controlled by a thermostatic valve.

Manifold vacuum, or any source below the throttle plates when the engine is at idle speed. This will apply the choke pull-off at initial engine start-up and unload the choke flap to keep the engine from flooding out.....Cliff

Its a '76 quadrajet. So if I am getting this right I would use the middle port between the pcv and water ports?

Thanks...

Hooking it to the small vacuum fitting on the vacuum tee in the back will work.

Hooking it to the small vacuum fitting on the vacuum tee in the back will open the chokeblade too far with cold engine.

This is the secondary pull-off wich should be connected to the thermostatic valve.
It was used for emission purposes but is really not needed so you can omit it if you like a cleaner look.

Kenth, good advice, we NEVER install them unless it is a full restoration to every detail, they are not needed.....Cliff
