Default WTB patina firebird or TA

Looking for 67-9 firebird 400 or 70-74 Formula or TA
Want to build a badass patina Car.

No motor or tranny needed. Prefer no vinyls and minimal rust repair. Original sun baked paint is a plus.

Please let me know what you have or know about

Thanks

Depends on your budget.

If you're lookin for something cheap, you'll probably have to go with a '79-'92 model, to find what you're lookin for. I think there were more '79's built than any other model. So, there are probably more of them still around. I seen lots of sad lookin '79-'81's that nobody would suspect of being fast, at all. One of these should make a good "sleeper". But, you may have to look out West, to find a 2nd gen with little to no rust.

And the 3rd gens are probably the cheapest Birds that can use a Pontiac engine, without too much hassle. But, you'll have the extra expense of replacing the rear end with something stronger.

So, a '79-'81 will probably be your best buy, for your purposes.

There are quite a few old Birds listed on this site as being in Cadillac, MI. Might be just a buch of rust buckets.

Thanks for input. I'm ok for paying up a bit no problem for bird or GTO that fits my thoughts.

Would do typical dse front and rear big brakes and already have tremac and motor so I kind of forgot how much I spent on those in the past. Lol

"...or GTO..."

Now that makes a big difference. All you need to do is find a decent Tempest, T-37, or Lemans. Then you can just leave the body that way, or build some sort of ruff lookin GTO clone, if that's what you prefer.

Clean, real GTO bodies are very pricey nowadays. But, you can still run across some decent deals on non-GTO A-bodies.

Hey, if you wanna build a real ugly sleeper, that nobody would suspect, you can go with a 4-door Lemans, especially a '73-'77 model. And I mean no offense to anyone who owns one of these models, OK ???

But hey, they'll accept a Pontiac engine, easily, and have an 8.5 rear. And if you leave the outside ruff, including no flashy wheels, it'll go under the radar, in most circles.

Hoe bout a clean '71 or '72 4-door ?

OR: (And many of these are "make offer" cars.) Might be a good deal in the bunch.

Well hey, you get the idea. There are lots of A-bodies out there for around $10k or less.
