Default Brake pad issue

Ok, new pads, new calilpers..........had them on and off about 10 times today, seems no matter what when i spin the wheel i get rubbing on the rotor.....

When i look at the old stuff, seems the pad fits better/tighter in the old housing. Just wondering if im doing something wrong here.

First i bent down the two tabs holding the pad to the caliper, no matter what it was always loose and moving around...........then it seems on the new pads they are a hair shorter than the old ones..........so what i ended up doing was really bending the two tabs a little further and then pressing the other end on tight, as least it sits on there without falling out of the caliper.

Now in the pics if i hold the part by the piston, the rubbing stops, fooled around with different spring clips, doesnt seem to get tighter one way or the other in the piston.

So to make my long a$$ story short, when you put new pads on for the first time, are they supposed to hit the rotor some untill you get some driving time in.

Last dumb question, i hope...........that backing plate seemed to fall off when i was messing aound with the pad............do you glue it back on or do without.

Whats ya guys think

Scarebird, good eye..............i got that all straighten out, i took this pic early ........forgot to mention new rotors also...........on that 4th pic do i use glue or anything to keep it on, it has some very small tabs but they dont hold well.

Guess whats driving me nuts is when turning the hub by hand its hitting the rotor some, but when touching that clip that the piston side is on, it stops.

I guess i can buy another pair of pads and hope for the best.
