Default 40 Year Old Filters

I just found a 542 air filter. It’s in a brown cardboard box, Deff from the 80’s. I’ll bet the pre filter is dust. We shall see, I haven’t got yet,

Yes. Mine was properly stored, and the pre-filter was not dust like your junk..

The foam deteriorates after like 20 years, same thing happens to the headliners, you can’t get around the foam.
But I know a guy that makes a nice foam repop for the Trans am and the GTO.
They weren’t my filters, I bought them.

Like I said, my foam is perfect and was stored properly.

Goody for you there Sally.
Carb looks a little rough. Do you garage your car?

The car has been garaged since new. It resides in a beautiful 3.5 car garage at my new place.. I think the carb looks fine for a unrestored 44 year old carb. What does yours look like?
