Still giddy, I struck a deal and bought the car. The Bobcat thing...well I don't care. There is a pic in the documentation of Milt with the car...in 2019. It drive's good, is a very nice driver and I'm OK with it.

Congrats on striking a deal and getting the Trans Am !
It is the only TA i have ever encountered that sold new at Royal.

Don't really come across very many of any type of cars that sold new at Royal.
They sold 6 cylinder Tempest's and 4 door Catalina's just like every other Pontiac dealer did.

Would want a rear license plate frame for it right away.
And probably a key fob

Maybe the Bobcat decal would be better on the radiator support or firewall ,,, it does have headers ... so

The woodgrain shifter knob really throws the interior off
Rest of the car looked pretty good in the ebay pics
Enjoy the Ride !

BVZ I'm not really into the plate frames. I am gonna leave the decals on there for now, only because I am not a body guy at all. I don't even know how I would get them off. The funny thing is I sent a really nice GM shift knob to Maryanne a few months ago. I dont even know what the other knob is from. Funny thing is I went to take it out Sunday morning with the wife and it would not start (they had it on a tender for almost two years) The battery as from 2011, I got a new one and charged it up, I thought the battery was bad. But the starter still just clicks so I gotta put a starter in it, of course I'll have a local guy rebuild it if its the original...which I doubt. I'll take some nice pics this weekend and start another thread, gonna rain here all week.

Just FYI on the starter, if it we me I would have the local guy rebuild it, that way you don't have to mess around with measuring the shim pack, just reuse the shims that were installed on the starter. And the local guy usually does a better job than the national rebuilde'sr do. In my opinion.

Mgarblik, I sat and talked to Milt and his wife a couple of times at the SVTGTO Club's show up at Herr's Park in PA. Also have photos of him and me with my GTO and his 66 GTO that was at the show the first time. Very interesting to talk with them about the old days. I even have his book which he autographed. It's sad he's gone now.

Original engine but has headers, wrong fenders, wrong carb and distributor,. Had GM quarters put on it and is cracking at the roof joint, Handmade door panels, 69 wood auto knob, has a 67 big Pontiac am-fm in it, super bad steering wheel, underhood wiring was a mess, many fluid leaks. Did not run worth a crap when I saw it, but was a very cold day. It had not been run much; backing it in and out of garage many times and fouled 3-4 plugs. Paint is about a 7.5. I know there are more problems but can't remember anything else.

I told the original seller (not the current one) that it would need at least 10K worth of work to bring it to at least decent driver quality and be reasonably correct without any repainting of parts.

As far as the Royal Bobcat, unless he had a receipt to prove his claims, it was just hearsay and was meaningless UNLESS HE COULD PROVE IT. Needless to say, this could not be done so therefore it was an empty statement. Just because it was sold by Royal, doesn't mean it was a Bobcat despite the decals.

I had the car bought for 32K but the current owner swooped in with an offer in excess of 40K so I was told. It has been at mecham Kissemmee last year (unsold) and ebay 2-3 times.

Hope this helps.
I guess this is the one I was supposed to pick up for you in New Hope?

Where did you buy this car at?
I know of another TA labeled as a Royal Bobcat.
I suspect it’s the same car

Interstate motorsport. Pennington, Nj. The place was filled with lamborghinis, ferraris, porsches, rolls royces, bentleys, mcclarens. Car stuck out like a sore thumb.
