i assume they are all like that. I had a set of 72cc Edelbrock heads and the rocker studs were breaking into the intake ports the same as on your 87cc heads.

The rocker stud threads were all sealed with Teflon paste from Edelbrock.

No need to send them back, not an issue.

Love the car - and the wheels compliment it well. The background is nice too!

Thanks for compliments. Hi I did not get the idea to translate text with Google and yes, I love my car. After framme off restoration in 2011 with my son, we have made original condition. Only original color was Laurentian green (now it is no. 9005 BMW mottorad color, it changes slightly to orange in sunshine) and the engine is overbored at 0.40inch and we have small performer camshaft installed. We have constantly carried out improvements every year. GTO now has Umi suspension, 2 inch lowering, AGR steering gear and AGR steering pump, 3 inch Pypes exahaust, rear brake discs, Yukon new Posi with, Year One 17 inch rims, Dougs, Powermaster anlaser, Flowkooler water pump, March Setup, Champion 4 Rows cooler, 2X Spal fans and this year is engine in the series.
Has anyone driven Lunati roller camshaft 231/239?

Very cool car Ivo! I'm interested to hear how the engine upgrade performs. Are you taking this car on the Autobahn? Engine, brake, and suspension upgrades make sense for that.

Yes we drove on highway. He is perfect, suspension AGR steering gear and brakes are a dream. Only we have to be careful because of Doug headers, there is not much space to floor with 2 inch lowering. Cooling updates (Flowmaster, Champion Radiator and 2 Spals) reduce temperature to 195 ° F in city traffic

They often leave the chips from tapping the holes in the ports, clean the entire head well before installing!

Some studs are a little longer on the bottom. Definitely use teflon sealant or it will suck oil down them!

Hello, I have to ask another question in my old thread. I asked here that rocker studs can be seen through intake channel, too long. Two years since I installed my butler setup, I don't have a stable Vacum. Vacum Gauge always oscillates slowly 1 hg. On idle slowly oscillates between 14-15hg and in gear between 11 and 12. Two years ago I tried to find out everything possible and in the end I stopped looking for the cause, I thought it was from camschaft overlap.
Yesterday I removed my carburetor from Intake because my cable to the temperature sensor from El.Fans is under manifold and I want to change my fan control.
I got the idea to put pressure on the intake manifold. I solved all rockers by closing the intake valves.
BANG .... Three studs have pretty big leaks. I can see bubbles forming around studs.
Sorry for long talk, my question is can this also cause vacum leak the idle is unstable?
Should I use ARP paste for sealing or Teflon tape is enough?
Thanks Ivo

I use Permatex Ultra Grey RTV on the rocker stud threads that go into the intake ports and haven't had any issues with leaks. Because of the size of your cam, you will always have some vacuum gauge bounce and it's not an indication of anything wrong.

I used paste on my two sets.

I also like the color, almost reminds me a '88 Firebird GTA color.

Your car looks fantastic. Real head turner.
Question, 3rd picture. The background behind your car. What is it, where ?

If you can source the product, this is the best "paste":

Loctite/Permatex "PST" which comes in several varieties: 565, 567, and my personal favorite, 592. There's also a semi-solid "stick" but I don't remember the number.

Ivo , tell us more about the background buildings in these 2 pictures.
Are they old military fortifications from WW2 ?
Where are they and what were they used as during their operation ?

Your GTO is a work of art and the color fits it Very Well !
