Default Pedal trim

I recall that the bright stainless pedal trim was always installed on cars with power brakes or with power steering, but I don’t recall which one.

Only with power brakes. Both my 66' GTO's have plain black pedals. One has manual brakes/manual steering, the other manual/manual.
My 67 my Dad bought new has power brakes and steering has stainless trim on pedals.

Depends on the year.
Some years the pedal trim was included with the Decor Group option or as a stand alone option.
Standard equipment on the 68-69 LeMans/GTO
My 68 has the trim with manual drum brakes

Typo from fat fingering my phone-

66 with manual steering/manual brakes- No trim 33K original mileage car
66 with power steering/manual brakes-No trim 29K original mileage car
67 with Power Steering/Power Brakes- Trim on both gas and brake pedal, original 1 family owned car.

All 66-67's I have seen only had the trim with power brake option.
Not sure about any later than 67.

For '66 & '67 it was a Factory or Dealer add-on with the Power Brake Option.
The Decor Group does not list anything but "MOLDINGS" and IIRC it pertains to exterior trim.

Power Brakes may be true for the earlier A bodies, but the Salesman Accessorizer for 68-72 shows that the pedal trim was either standard, part of the decor group or as a stand alone option.
Like I said, depends on the year.

Good info; however, we're in '66-'67 Tech.

What the others said for '66-'67---and '65 too: stainless trim on pedals on power brake cars.
