True barn find!
Just purchased a 1968 Firebird convertible. This is a one owner car that has never been re-titled (the current title was issued when the car was purchased in 1969). It was last driven in 1991 and (literally) sat in a barn until last year. It has 42,000 original miles. Engine is a 350 2 barrel. It’s automatic with power top but no a/c. Original paint in very good condition, original top in very good condition. No rust and no body work, I can’t even find any dings. Original chrome still shiny. Original manuals and bill of sale in glove box. Needs tires, hoses, belts, filters, fluids, plugs, points, new muffler, new shocks. One of my good friends bought it from the estate of a man who gave this car to his daughter for her high school graduation in 1969. My friend was a classmate of this lady and she knew that he liked classic cars. This fellow has lots of projects going on and just didn’t have time for one other one. After about six months he called me up and offered the car to me for what he paid for it (a VERY good price). I’m going to keep the car original just do what needs to be done to get it roadworthy. I am going to put power disc brakes on it and replace the carpet. By the time I get through I will have maybe $21,000 in the car. My first car was a 1969 Firebird at age 17 so I am super excited (at age 61) to be getting another one!

All I can say is WOW! What a wonderful automobile. Mom had a 67 hardtop that same colour. Was my introduction to Pontiacs.

Great score. Just remember it is only a survivor once. Make changes to it and it is no longer a survivor.

That car looks great! Neat to see one so well preserved.
And I moved from Virginia in 1991, so that vintage of license plate looks very familiar to me -- I have a number of them in my plate collection.

Wish i could find something like that around here.
I'd probably just go through everything and get it tip top on its maintenance.. belts .. hoses.. fluids.. brakes.. etc... Throw a new set of new tires on and enjoy. Drum brakes aren't that bad as long as they're properly adjusted and you aren't road racing.

What a neat find. Keep hearing cars like this are all gone, but I never believe it. You just proved there are still a precious few left out there . Enjoy that car when you get it ready for the road. Ivy gold interior, got to love that!.

Awesome find and a great looking car. There's something about the original Verdoro paint that just isn't captured in today's formulas.
